Senior Editorial Project Manager

Mid-Level
Salary:
Competitive - on enquiry

Think Selection are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a specialist publishing services agency that delivers custom publishing projects for a wide range of clients, including authors, brands and organisations. The team is looking to appoint a Senior Editorial Project Manager to liaise closely with clients, take the lead on complex editorial projects and provide day-to-day support to editorial colleagues.

Reporting to the Publishing Director, you’ll work on a variety of high-specification titles – from cookbooks and illustrated children’s books to graphic novels and narrative non-fiction – ensuring that each project is delivered to brief, on time, and to a high standard. You’ll manage and develop junior members of the editorial team, oversee budgets and schedules, and coordinate external marketing and PR partners to deliver campaign goals.

The agency operates differently to a traditional publisher – the focus is on combining editorial expertise with commercial awareness to deliver exceptional client service. You’ll be involved from early-stage project scoping through to final delivery, working closely with freelancers, suppliers and internal teams. The company does not hold rights and does not work to publisher schedules. Work is driven by client demand and therefore the ideal candidate will need to be well-suited to a fast-paced working environment, efficiently balance their workload and prioritise accordingly.

This opportunity would suit someone with strong book editorial experience, and a good working knowledge of design and production processes. You’ll be confident managing author and client relationships, juggling multiple deadlines, and adapting your approach depending on the project. Experience supporting or mentoring others would be helpful, as would familiarity with publishing management systems.

The company offers an attractive salary and hybrid working with regular presence at their north London offices throughout the week to support collaboration and team development.
