Sales Director
Think Selection is exclusively recruiting a Sales Director for an established trade book publishing company with a market-leading list spanning commercial fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels and illustrated titles.
This role carries full responsibility for UK & International sales strategy and revenue growth. You’ll lead sales activity across multiple markets, produce forecasts and budgets, and negotiate key commercial terms.
You’ll develop and implement global sales plans across the lists, using competitor and market analysis to guide pricing, formats and territory focus. Your sales insight will feed directly into acquisition and publishing decisions, ensuring each title is commercially positioned from the outset.
As Sales Director, you’ll build and manage relationships with major retailers, wholesalers and partners worldwide, and oversee retail spend, discount structures and contribute to distribution contract negotiations.
You will lead and develop the in-house sales team, with oversight of marketing and rights, setting clear objectives and maintaining strong commercial focus across departments.
The role also includes oversight of global print runs, reprints and stock management, ensuring supply aligns with demand across territories.
We are looking for someone with extensive sales management experience within trade publishing, strong commercial judgement, proven negotiation skills, and confidence working with sales data and forecasts. Some international travel is included.
