Publishing Assistant
Think Selection is recruiting a Publishing Assistant on behalf of a well-established independent publishing company.
This is a varied role working closely with senior members of the publishing team, with a particular focus on acquisitions and editorial, together with assisting the Publishing Director.
You'll research potential acquisitions, gathering information on authors, comparable titles and previous sales, and prepare presentations and other material for acquisition meetings and external pitches. You'll also help ensure that information on newly acquired titles is communicated clearly within the company.
Working within the editorial team, you'll assist with day-to-day administration, including processing invoices, organising complimentary copies for authors and press contacts, responding to enquiries and helping with editorial projects.
You'll also assist with preparations for publishing meetings, industry events and trade shows, including organising meetings and travel, preparing agendas and keeping a clear record of decisions and agreed actions.
The role also offers the opportunity to assist with book launches, promotions and other events, making this a particularly varied position within the publishing team.
We're looking for someone highly organised and detail-focused, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Good Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills are required, while experience of InDesign and/or Mailchimp would be an advantage.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering hybrid working from the company's London offices and a salary of £27,000–£28,000.
