Project Editor (Illustrated Non-Fiction)
Think Selection is thrilled to be exclusively recruiting a Project Editor on behalf of a leading independent trade book publishing company.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a varied list of illustrated non-fiction books spanning popular culture, film, television and entertainment. The role combines editorial project management with hands-on editing and offers the chance to take ownership of projects through the full editorial process.
As Project Editor, you'll manage a portfolio of titles at different stages of development, working closely with authors, licensors, designers and colleagues across editorial, design and production. You'll edit manuscripts, carry out copy-editing and proofreading, review page proofs and help ensure books are delivered on schedule and to a high editorial standard.
You'll also brief contributors, review layouts and help coordinate the editorial and visual elements that bring highly illustrated books to publication. There is also scope to contribute ideas for new projects and acquisitions.
The team is collaborative and supportive, making this an excellent opportunity for an Editorial Assistant or Assistant Editor looking to step up or for a Project Editor seeking broader responsibility and ownership of projects.
We're keen to hear from candidates with book publishing editorial experience, ideally gained within illustrated non-fiction. An interest in popular culture, film, television or related subjects would be helpful. Familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop would be advantageous.
The position is based in London with hybrid working. The team combines office and home working, with a minimum of two days each week in the company's London offices after the initial settling-in period.
