A London based trade publishing company has asked Think Selection to recruit a Production Assistant to join its friendly Production team. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin a career in publishing production, working within a busy publishing environment and gaining first-hand experience of how books progress from approved files through to finished copies.

You'll provide day to day administrative and production support, helping to keep publishing schedules up to date and ensuring information is recorded accurately throughout the production process. You'll communicate regularly with printers, suppliers and colleagues across the company, helping to coordinate projects and ensure deadlines are met.

Your responsibilities will include checking proofs and advance copies, reviewing files before they are released for print, processing corrections, updating production systems, maintaining production records and responding to day-to-day production enquiries.

This role will give you broad exposure to the book production process, introducing you to different print techniques, materials and manufacturing methods whilst developing the practical skills needed for a successful career in publishing production.

We're looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and a genuine enthusiasm for working in publishing production. You'll enjoy working as part of a team, be comfortable managing a variety of tasks and have the confidence to communicate with colleagues and external suppliers. Previous publishing work experience would be helpful, although we're equally interested in candidates who can demonstrate a genuine interest in book production.
