Junior Production Controller
Think Selection is delighted to be recruiting a Junior Production Controller on behalf of a successful London based trade publisher.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and supportive Production team, working on a wide variety of high quality colour illustrated and mono books. Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll build on your existing production experience, taking on a varied workload whilst continuing to develop your technical knowledge and production expertise.
You'll be involved throughout the production process, helping to ensure that every title is produced to the required specification and on schedule. Working closely with colleagues across Editorial, Design, Sales and other departments, as well as printers and suppliers, you'll help keep projects running smoothly from approved files through to finished books.
The role includes reviewing files, proofs and advance copies, carrying out colour checking, ensuring artwork and files are print ready, checking corrections, monitoring schedules, maintaining accurate production records and helping to resolve production queries to keep projects on track throughout the manufacturing process.
Working across a varied publishing programme, you'll broaden your experience of different print specifications, finishes and production methods. You'll also use Adobe InDesign for minor amendments and file updates as part of the production workflow.
We're interested in hearing from candidates with some previous publishing production experience who are looking to take the next step in their career. You'll have excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and a genuine interest in producing high quality books.
A salary of up to £30,000 is on offer, plus company benefits, and you’ll be based from the London offices with hybrid working in place.
