A leading international trade book publishing company has asked Think Selection to recruit a Head of Marketing to drive the marketing campaigns and strategy for a high-profile Nonfiction publishing division.

This is a senior marketing role responsible for setting and delivering the marketing strategy for a broad publishing programme spanning narrative nonfiction, memoir, lifestyle and illustrated titles. The focus is on leading major frontlist campaigns while also developing a commercially grounded approach to the backlist.

The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of high-profile, author-led campaigns, from initial positioning through to execution and evaluation. Alongside campaign delivery, the Head of Marketing plays a central role in bringing audience insight into acquisitions discussions, assessing market opportunity and contributing informed, practical strategies at an early stage of the publishing process.

The position includes direct management of two marketers. Developing the team, setting priorities and providing consistent direction and feedback form a core part of the role. The Head of Marketing also holds responsibility for the marketing budget, including forecasting, monitoring spend and reviewing campaign performance.

This opportunity will suit an experienced book marketing professional with a track record of leading large-scale campaigns in adult Nonfiction or closely related publishing areas. Experience of driving narrative, author-led publishing campaigns is particularly relevant.

A competitive salary package and company benefits are on offer to the successful candidate for this full-time role, and you’ll be based a minimum 3 days per week from the company’s Central London offices.
