Director of Operations
Think Selection is delighted to be exclusively recruiting a Director of Operations for an independent educational publishing company with a global footprint. The company produces print resources, digital resources and training programmes used in classrooms worldwide. Recent updates to its print and digital products, marketing systems and ecommerce platforms have created an opportunity to bring greater alignment to how the organisation plans and runs its operations.
In this senior role, you'll lead the operational structure that supports the business day to day. You’ll oversee month-end reporting, forecasting and budget planning, giving the leadership team clear and timely visibility of performance by region, product and channel.
You’ll draw information from accounting, ecommerce, training and stock systems to provide a joined-up view that supports decision-making.
Working closely with Sales, Marketing and Production, you’ll provide clear commercial insight, guide pricing strategy, monitor the performance of the agents' network, and advise on practical planning around print quantities, stock cover and distribution routes.
The position includes a people and culture dimension, helping to embed processes that support hiring, onboarding and coordinated working across the operational teams.
The role will suit someone with a strong background in publishing operations, confidence with financial and stock information, and experience leading teams. Knowledge of e-commerce tools, dashboards, international distribution or logistics networks would be an advantage.
This is a full-time position based in the London area with hybrid working of two days per week in the offices, plus some UK and occasional international travel. A competitive salary package and benefits are offered.
To express interest, in confidence, please contact Danny Parnes at Think Selection with your CV and current salary or expectations – at danny@thinkselection.com – or you can call Danny on 07958 208817 for an initial chat. Many thanks.
