Think Selection is delighted to be recruiting for a Copy Editor to join an independent fiction book publisher in central London.

This is a great opportunity to join a friendly publishing team and play an integral part in how its books are presented to readers. You’ll write compelling back-cover copy for new paperback releases, identifying the strongest hooks and creating copy that reflects each book and appeals to its readership.

You’ll be writing copy for commercial fiction genres including romance, crime, fantasy and historical fiction. You’ll also review and edit existing copy, proofread material before publication and ensure metadata and bibliographic information is accurate and up to date.

You’ll have excellent copywriting and proofreading skills, a strong understanding of commercial fiction and a meticulous eye for detail. The role will suit someone with experience working in editorial or marketing in publishing, although our client will also consider candidates in related roles who can demonstrate strong commercial writing skills and a good knowledge of the fiction market.

This full-time role is based in central London, with three to four days each week in the offices. The salary is up to £35,000 plus company benefits.
