Salary:
Up to £45k

Think Selection is delighted to be recruiting a Commissioning Editor for an award-winning independent publisher. This is an excellent opportunity to commission and develop titles for its acclaimed crime fiction list.

Working closely with the Editorial Director, you'll be responsible for commissioning and editorial development on a crime fiction list, identifying outstanding new books and contributing ideas that will continue to strengthen and grow the publishing programme.

You'll assess submissions, commission new titles, prepare publishing proposals and present new projects internally. You'll also oversee your books from acquisition through to publication, working closely with colleagues in design, publicity, marketing, sales and rights to ensure every title has the strongest possible launch.

This position would suit an editor who is ready to take on greater commissioning responsibility, or a commissioning editor looking to play an important role within a highly respected independent publisher.

The successful candidate will have excellent editorial judgement, a strong knowledge of crime fiction and a good understanding of the UK publishing market. You'll enjoy discovering exceptional new crime fiction writing, recognise books with commercial potential and be confident working with authors and literary agents.

The position is based in central London and offers hybrid working, with three days a week in the office. The salary is up to £45,000, plus attractive company benefits.

If this opportunity is of interest to you, please in the first instance send your CV and current salary details to danny@thinkselection.com. Alternatively, you can call Danny Parnes on 07958 208817 for an initial confidential discussion.
