Think Selection has been asked by a leading independent trade publishing company to find a talented Art Director to join their team.

In this creative, hands-on design role, you’ll take the lead on the visual direction of the company’s fiction and non-fiction lists. You’ll commission and brief freelance designers and illustrators, design striking market-leading covers yourself, and ensure that the highest standards of quality and consistency are maintained across the list.

Working closely with the publishers, editorial, marketing and production colleagues, you’ll harness design strategy with audience trends, contribute to the long-term visual identity of the lists and the commercial success of the books.

We’re looking for an outstanding designer with significant trade book cover design experience and a strong record of art direction. Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness are essential.

A generous salary is on offer, which will depend on your experience, plus company benefits. You’ll be based from the London offices a minimum three days per week. The position can be full-time, or part-time on a three to four day per week basis.
