Acquisitions Assistant

Think Selection is delighted to be recruiting an Acquisitions Assistant for the licensed publishing division of a long-established trade book publishing company. This division specialises in publishing books linked to film & television and popular culture brands.

This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work in licensed book publishing, supporting the Acquisitions Editor in identifying, evaluating and securing new publishing licences.

The role combines detailed administration with commercial responsibilities. You’ll research potential new licences, compile market data, prepare acquisition documents and pitch materials, run project costings and ensure documentation is complete ahead of internal publishing meetings.

Alongside this, you will manage content assets, track publication schedules and take minutes at acquisitions meetings. You will also review unsolicited submissions and, as your experience develops, there is the opportunity to begin contributing your own market knowledge and ideas into editorial discussions.

This position would suit someone at entry level; or seeking a move from assistant level within publishing who has strong administrative accuracy, confidence with numeric details, and a genuine interest in modern pop culture and entertainment publishing.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain commercial acquisitions experience within a well-established publishing company.

The salary on offer is competitive and you’ll be based from the company’s offices in London, where hybrid working is offered. For more details, please send your CV and salary expectations (or current salary if relevant) to Julia Brown at Think Selection – julia@thinkselection.com

Our client has indicated that interviews will begin shortly, so please get in touch with Julia as soon as possible if this looks of interest to you. Many thanks.
